A: At Blue Door Gatherings, we love that we get the chance to work in all types of awesome venues! We prefer venues with a catering kitchen but we know that it is not always possible.
Here are our requirements that will ensure the best execution of your event: running water, access to electricity, separate catering tent (for outdoor events), indoor prep area, convection oven + propane grill, tables, reasonable proximity to actual dining/event space + trash/recycling access on site. If you are working with a non-traditional venue, we are happy to provide general guidance on what and where to rent.
-
A: There is no one set price per person for our events. We customize each event and menu to fit your desires and needs. After discussion of what you would like for your event, we will be able to offer you a more accurate estimate - please request our booking questionnaire. Our price per person for the 2025 season will start at $100+/ person. In addition, there is a 25% service charge + 7% MA state sales tax.
-
A: Our minimum event size is 12 people. We would be happy to discuss exceptions with you for your event; however, the minimum cost of the event would remain at the minimum cost. Our typical full-service event size capacity is 200 guests. We do make exceptions, such as large cocktail-style events.
-
A: Yes we do.
We do require full access to your kitchen - we promise to leave it cleaner than we found it! The kitchen must have a working oven/stovetop, some refrigerator/freezer space (a full shelf) + hot water to wash dishes. We may ask for pictures or an equipment list of the kitchen space beforehand to plan the execution of your event.
-
A: We are open to traveling for all events. We frequently service events throughout New England and New York.
-
A: We offer tastings during our winter season January - March by appointment only. You must already have an event booked with us to schedule a tasting. A booked event does not guarantee a tasting with us. We have very limited time to offer private tastings. We give first priority to our wedding clients.
Our tasting fee is $250 / person to cover the cost of labor and ingredients. If you don’t want to book a private tasting experience in our kitchen we also recommend coming to one of our seasonal supper clubs or ticketed dinners for the full BDG experience. We also have a cafe window open 8-3 W-F with outdoor tables that offers a casual taste of our food + style.
-
A: We curate menus around the New England seasons using local + organic ingredients. It is so important to us that we take into consideration your individual tastes + preferences. We love designing one-of-a-kind menus so our provided sample menus are just a glimpse of what we can do! We will have detailed conversations with you during the planning process to design the best menu for you + your guests.
-
A: We want to provide the best experience for you + your guests, therefore we customize our menus to fit your needs. We specialize in options for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian + vegan diets. We can always accommodate guests at weddings with specialty diets and food allergies.

A: Typically, our servers facilitate setting the tables with plateware, chargers, silverware, glassware, linen napkins and menus. We often work with the florist and event planner to set the table linens, runners, decor, signage and flowers. Let us know if you have a specific tablescape vision. We will make sure that our team brings it to life.
